Apple’s Own Social Network! Have You Heard Of It?

Apple Social Network - iTunes Ping - WinfiY crunch

It’s indisputable that Apple is one of the biggest innovative & technology companies of all time. Since Apple’s launch on April 1, 1976, the tech giant has come a long way with its own share of failures & success. One such failure was Apple’s own social network called “Apple Ping“. Ping was a music-based social network announced by Steve Jobs on September 1, 2010 calling it “sort of like Facebook and Twitter meet iTunes“! Ping was  branded as “a social network for music“. Soon after launch, Ping became a place for spam, fake accounts & was available only in 23 countries. Further, Facebook restricted access to Ping that make it possible to interact with Facebook friends on Ping. Ping could never become popular & could survive for only 2 years. Ping was officially discontinued by Apple on September 30 2012 coupled with Facebook & Twitter integration in iTunes.
