Have you heard of the term “Googol“? Probably no, right? But you must have heard of “Google“! Well, “Googol” denotes the number 1 followed by 100 zeros i.e. 10100). It will be like 10000000….. Well, Larry Page & Surgey Brin launched Google in 1998 with an intention to provide large number of information to people like you (that you call search results) through Google Search. Before that launch, they needed a name that can share their grand vision. They selected “Googol” (since it reflects a large number – 10100) only to found that it was already registered. The Smart duo tweaked the name to “Google” and registered Google.com on September 15, 1997. The name reflect their mission to organize the limitless information through Google!
