In this culture, Husband changes his surname and move to wife’s house!
Post marriage, what normally happens is wife move to husband’s house and changes her surname (called “patrilineal” culture). Well, there is one more culture very few people are aware about – “matrilineal” culture which is opposite to the usual scenario. Under this culture, husband move to wife’s house & changes his surname. Children are also given the surname of mother & generally such children are taken care by their mother’s brother & not their father (strange!). While this culture is not popular in the world (obviously!) but still prevails in some regions of America, Africa, Asia & Oceania. What you think of it?
